Data Cabling Installation Engineer

Would you like to join a leading Building Services company with a reputation for excellence? JGM is currently recruiting Data Cabling Installation Engineers to join our passionate and driven team in Edinburgh and Perth.

As a Data Cabling Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation of Fibre, Voice, and Data cabling across various environments, including Commercial, Government, Education, Healthcare, and Listed Buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, terminate, and test Category 6 and Category 6a structured cabling systems (shielded and unshielded) to manufacturer specifications.
• Test structured cabling systems using Fluke DSX network testers.
• Install, terminate, and test multimode and single-mode fibre cables, using fusion splicing and Fluke DSX Light Loss Fibre modules.
• Install and maintain voice cabling systems.
• Install communications cabinets (wall-mounted, floor-mounted, and flat-pack assemblies).
• Install various containment systems, including cable tray, basket tray, PVC/metal trunking, PVC conduit, and cable matting.
• Use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Fluke LinkWare & LinkWare Live software.

Requirements:

• NVQ or SVQ in Structured Cabling / Telecommunications.
• ECS Grade Card.
• Customer-focused with a proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Ability to meet project deadlines and escalate risks when necessary.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
