JGM is currently recruiting for a Data Cabling Installation Engineers to join our passionate and driven team in Edinburgh and Perth on a permanent basis. The role will involve the Installation of Fibre, Voice and Data cabling within the following environments: Commercial, Government, Education, Healthcare & Listed Buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- The applicant must be competent and experienced in the installation of structured cabling systems including Category 6 and Category 6a shielded and un-shielded cabling systems of various manufacturers. Able to install, terminate and test a full structured cabling system including patch panels and data outlets to manufacturers specifications. Have the competence in testing with Fluke DSX network testers.
- The applicant must be competent in the fibre cabling installation of multimode and single-mode fibre cables with the ability terminate cables by fusion splicing method and testing of cables with Fluke DSX Light Loss Fibre modules set.
- The applicant must be competent in the voice cabling.
- The applicant must be competent in the installation of communications cabinets, wall and floor mounted including flat pack assembled cabinets.
- The applicant must be competent in the installation of various containment systems including cable tray, basket tray, PVC and metal trunking, PVC conduit and cable matting within the above premises.
- PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Fluke LinkWare and LinkWare Live software packages.
- NVQ or SVQ in Structured Cabling / Telecommunications will be required.

- Ability to work safely at all times and the ability to understand the contract and Health & Safety requirements/regulations.
- ECS Grade Card
- Provide appropriate and correct site information.
- Ability to successfully complete tasks within given timescales of the project.
- Ability to identify issues or risks that require escalation as necessary to the project manager.
- Full clean driving licence
