Due to our continuing expansion, JGM are recruiting a Fleet Manager.
Overview:
As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient operation of a company’s fleet of vehicles. This role involves implementing safety measures, optimizing vehicle usage, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Fleet Manager plays a crucial role in minimizing costs, maximizing productivity, and maintaining the overall integrity of the company’s fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and available for use.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and analyse fleet metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure staff members adhere to safety regulations and operational standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet.
- Coordinate with drivers to schedule regular inspections and repairs.
- Manage relationships with third-party maintenance providers.
Cost Management:
- Develop and monitor budgets related to fleet operations, including fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and vehicle acquisition.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to fleet management.
- Ensure that the fleet operations comply with government regulations.
Technology Integration:
- Utilise technology to enhance overall fleet efficiency and decision-making.
Risk Management:
- Develop and implement safety programs to minimize accidents and injuries.
- Investigate and report incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate and analyse reports on fleet performance, costs, and key performance indicators.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in fleet management or a related field.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software and tools.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
